History:

This new colony was reported in 2007 through the RAUK eForum online reporting system. It was found in a residential garden in Lancing, which backs onto the railway line. This has led to some speculation as to whether this specimen was originally from the Shoreham colony, and has used the railway line as a habitat corridor. The later discovery at West Worthing station also lends credibility to this theory, although the intermediate stretches of railway line would have to be surveyed to substatiate the hypothesis.
